This might be of more interest to the Ryan family since we are living in the house that used to belong to the grandparents and there are memories attached to it. It's a great house, but it's reached the point where everything needs fixing and painting (in an unfortunate bit of timing, we've come to the same point with our car).
My favorite part of home decorating shows is seeing the before and after shots. So here's my before and after. Oooo . . . Aaaah. Come on, humor me! OOOOOOO! AAAAAAH!!

Okay, none of the Ryan's should have any sentimental attachment to the ridiculous linolium squares that were in that kitchen. We remember Mimi making hommade dog food in a kitchen with dark brown CARPET that had the pattern of hard wood.
And then I think she had a linoleum in there reminiscent of the 70's, but not the good kind that makes its way back into hip modsters' homes today. The yucky, this has no business being in a room where people eat kind.
